Best buddies forever

And so the 3rd installment of the Toy Story is here since its first one in 1995 and that was when i was a 7 yrs old. The 1st movie made a huge impression to me as a child with its colorful and vibrant animation and solid storyline that it made me watch it several times. Now i'm 21 and still excited to go and watch the new installment.

Cut the story short, Toy Story 3 still keeps the original prominent characters from the first two. Buzz the space cadet, Woody the cowboy, Jessie, Rex, Mr and Mrs Bart and The Trixies with addition of new characters in latter scenes. But now, as 11 yrs passed they have to accept the fact that Andy had already outgrown them and about to leave his house to attend college. So, when Andy packs his stuffs, his mom mistook the toys as donation item and brought all the toys to Sunnyside, a child daycare center. Finding themselves in this situation, the toys took it that Andy no longer needed them and decided to stay in Sunnyside. Woody however keens on getting all of his friends back to Andy's house and thats how everything began

After 11 years from its last sequel , latest animation technology made Toy Story 3 on par with current animated movies, just how you would expect a Pixar product will be. Story-wise, The director Lee Unkrich manages to keep it as original as its first two with more balanced action-adventure, heart-warming, laughter and teary scenes. Watching it was like visiting old friends and made me reminisced childhood days. But the most gripping and intense scene had to be the ending where Andy made a sendoff with its toys and trusted them to a new kid named Bonnie. You might want to prepare some tissue and handkerchiefs for this one because I recalled hearing distinct sobbing from the entire cinemas during the scene. Although on the surface, this movie was made with the intention to capture young viewers, it deals more with adult themes like friendships, abandonment, and loyalty and concluded it just perfectly. Thats why i think Toy Story deserves a full 10 stars out of 10.

As of Thursday of 11th March ... we celebrate the announcement of 2009 SPM result.. but more importantly.. its the day Jason Bourne's fans has been waiting for.. Green Zone..

In green zone, Matt Damon played the role of a Chief Warrant Officer Roy Miller and was given the task to search for Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) in Baghdad only to find nothing and later realized that the intelligence on the WMD location were fabricated by higher chain of commands in hope of concealing hidden conspiracy among them.

As a fan who has been following Bourne's flick, I was greatly dissapointed by how this movie turned out. I was expecting to see some fast and efficient Bourne-like hand to hand combat, or something like shoot first ask question later action, or maybe some adrenaline pumping car-chasing scene.. but none of these were present in Green Zone.

Its almost felt like 80% of the movie time was wasted on unraveling the conspiracy theory with 90% of them shot using over-shaky cam. At least Paul Greengrass could have made the picture a bit steadier but he just dont get it and instead increases the viewer's dizziness from 50% shaky in Bourne Ultimatum to 240% in GZ!.. 2 shaky Bourne movies and he still dont learn his lesson. The rest 20% was action, but a slow and typical one. Those that you can see in almost all Iraq war movies.

But despite all the flaws, the message was pretty heavy. It shows how the Iraqis were severely oppressed and reduced to nothing after the war , all in the name of pursuing weapons that do not exist. A fabricated lie by US government. For this piece of crap, i give it 5 out 10...

Kalau ada member yang cakap movie ni best, maka amat betullah beliau... kalau evaluate movie ni dari trailer ja mmg tak cukup. Dari trailer saja, aku amat meragu-ragui potensi movie ni memuaskan hati moviegoer sejati spt ak. Mungkin salah satu sebab timbul dari sifat skeptikel ak terhadap movie yang direktornya angan2 untuk memecah box office dengan mengisi 80% masa tayangan movie dengan CGI melampau2. Tapi James Cameron berjaya mengejutkan ak, u mmg shet Cameron...

ok.. basically bagi aku.. movie ni sangat best sebab beberapa formula yang diapply oleh direktornya...

1st.. Grafik best macam main Halo
Seyesli.. kalo korang tengok trailer je dah cukup.. Kalo kira mekanisma animasi 3d semua watak2 fiksyen dalam tu rasanya biasa je... tapi kaler, tekstur design watak tu yang memukau mata... Watak alien Na'vi.. hutan2 yang glow in the dark.. menatang2 warna-warni,indah dan pelik, even mecha2 ala Gundam atau Starcraft pun ada.... Sumanya cam game Halo atau World of Warcraft la sial...All the time ak tengok movie tu.. aku rasa cam tengah tengok heronya Jake Sully main game Halo cuma kali ni ni dia lawan geng manusianya sendiri.

2nd.. Formula adventur cam Star Wars, LOTR, Star Trek..
Formula second ni. bukan suma direktor bleh buat.. takes a certain talented direktor utk capai tahap ni... Sepanjang durasi movie ni, ak terlupa realiti, logik dan rasional sebalik suma kejadian... ak just terlekat kat krusi menghayati adventure dlm muvi.. senang kata ak macam kembali ke budak umur 7 tahun melayan star wars buat pertama kali...

3rd.. Ala dokumentari National Geographic planet lain.
Diulang kembali, dalam movie ni... selain orang asli Na'vi yang menghabitasi planet Pandora.. terdapat pelbagai variasi organisma yang ditunjukkan.. ada yang terbang, merangkak, berlari cam kuda, bertenggek cam monyet dan mcm2.. Kehidupan sesetengah organisma aneh dan indah ni akan dihurai mana yang penting especially kat kehidupan orang asli Na'vi tadi... sebijik cam tengok dokumentari pasal puak jakun afrika yang duduk kat ceruk tokkun...

4th... ironinya.. cam nama filem Avatar.. ada diselitkan unsur kartun Avatar ..
dalam movie avatar, banyak diselitkan unsur2 alam seperti keseimbangan alam sekitar, jaringan tenaga2 suci dan bermacam2 lagi Yoda crap. tapi paling best.. part penjajah manusia serang hutan2 orang asli ni.. macam tengok babak2 Fire Nation memusnahkan dunia dalam book of fire.. tambah2 lagi serang dengan levitating aircraft dia yang besar gila.. macam gunship yang fire nation selalu guna...

in konklusi.. James Cameron mmg shet sbb dapat hasilkan muvi yang best gila walaupun CGI based.... tak banyak pun kita dapat tengok muka real pelakon.. kurang 20% camtu.. untuk filem ni ak bagi 8.5 gak.. jangan kata ak murah ati lak.. mmg muvi ni layak kot...

Zombieland mainly focuses on Tallahasse, a male shut-in and who lived by these rules to survive zombie attack and how he met 3 other survivor Columbus, Wichita and Little Rock. They go along these fake names to avoid further attachment with each other. Then, its all about travelling around the country with a hummer, killing zombie in the funniest way possible and enjoying their time while doing it..

About the 5 rules..

Rule no 1: Cardio
In world of zombies.... the first ones to go are fatties.. because zombies don't go walking slowly to chase after people... they sprint!.. So staying in shape really helps when trying to lose them

Rule no 2: Beware of the Bathroom
is where people are likely to let their guard down... making them more prone to surprise zombie attack... ignore the rule.. and you'll end up like this guy

Rule no 3: Use seatbelts
Blur?... have no idea how this rule might save people from zombies?.. try recaling the proton commercial ad where a pontianak gets thrown away from a car after the car stopped abruptly.. same concept applies here... you just dont know when a zombie might show up from the backseat...

When faced with shortage of weapon.. any objects surrounding you can be used effectively to kill zombies... as long as it delivers a strong blow particularly at their heads.. Take toilets covers for example..

Zombieland cleverly captures zombie attack in humorous way, although it is undeniable that the killing and gore scene were kept realistic and violent as like other zombie flicks. Almost all scenes had me surprised and entertained to the extent i cannot help laughing until my throats sore badly. In conclusion, it shows zombie attack in a pleasantly new perspective and definitely the best since shawn of the dead. I give Zombieland 8.5 out of 10.

post today is about a cover song by the killers. Seriously i knew the killers up to their 1 st album only Hot Fuzz if im not mistaken la.. The one i layan back at the time was Mr Brightside and Somebody Told Me.. After that, The Killers not on my mind anymore....

One day, one of my friend pass me this song. (of course la illegal downloading.. original CD so lame) . Title "Romeo and Juliet".. so i thought.. "eh, ni lagu Dire Straits feveret ak la sial".. So i gave it a listen.. and the first thing that caught my attention was the guitar playing... perghh... very smart, stylo and sweet la katakan... (sorry i dont know how else to describe).. The chords are still based on the original one by dire straits.. but altered a bit with a more soft and mellow sound.. just when i was amazed by the guitar playing... Brandon's voice joined in... if anything, its more like telling a story than singing.. only that the lyrics are more poetic and beautiful... and i find it unbelievable that his stunning voice blends in the music perfectly...

is the very 'mahal' part... If anything, Dire Straits should be grateful coz Brandon did them justice by carrying out the chorus perfectly... and the whole song as well..
The song goes for more than 5 minutes, but it took me less than 1 minute to figure that this cover is better than Dire Straits version... i mean we're talking about Dire Straits here... it is excusable if you guyz dont know anything about them.. but, just do me a favor and google them.. these guyz are legendary la.. If everything goes well, maybe i'll continue posting more about other songs... Cheers..

Filem yg menjadi mangsa review kali ni ialah 2012 yg hangat mcm goreng pisang emas... Honestly, boleh dikatakan ak ada bnyk expectation la utk movie ni... maklumla.. satu lg keluaran hollywood pasal kiamat dunia.... rasanya mat salleh mmg suka kot dunia nk kiamat ni... lgpun diorang kan suka buat benda jahat2 akhir zaman ni...

Warning.. stat perenggan ni ada spoiler alert.... nk dijadikan crite... tahun 2010, government amerika dapat tahu kerak bumi akan jadi tak stabil sbb akan matahari akan tembak partikel neutrino mutan yg sampai kat teras bumi. Efeknya sampai kat kerak bumi dan destabilize kerak bumi ni.. resultnya... satu dunia hancur... sbb gempa bumi, letusan gnung brapi, tsunami dan lain lain.... jadi time G8 summit, presiden amerika jumpa ngn pemimpin dunia lain utk diskas cmn nk panjangkan umur manusia2 lain ni.... hasilnya, satu plan dibuat utk hasilkan beberapa bijik kapal yg besar cam nak haram utk menampung seberapa bnyk mungkin manusia dari kemusnahan dunia... tp cukup utk 450,000 penumpang ja.. dan tiket utk nek kapal ni hargenya 1 bilion euro sorang... benda ni dirahsiakan dari pengetahuan awam kecuali segelintir orang... Sebelum event kehancuran tu, 1 jam pertama filem tu agak solid.... basically, filem tunjuk crita dari dua persepektif... dari view point kakitangan government dan dari life ayah kepada 2 org anak td... government jmp hint2 dunia nk kiamat dan cmn diorang prepare utk event tu... cita hero lak .. dia bwk anak2 g camping ke yellowstone national park dan jmp hint2 dunia nk hancur gak.......

bila stat je babak2 kehancuran secara besar-besaran... hampeh...., CGI mmg lawa... cara dia tunjuk bangunan bandar, rumah, transpot2 hancur mmg nampak real dan bergaya.. tapi bab hero menyelamatkan diri dari event tu mmg menipu penonton bulat2... ada ala2 war of the world, tapi lebih menipu dan tak real.. imagine la....

Gempa bumi stat-->tanah merekah--->rumah hero dekat2 nk runtuh--->hero dan keluarga nyaris2 survive

naik kapal terbang--> kapal terbang fly ke arah bangunan tinggi yg meruntuh-->nyaris2 lepas bangunan-->nyaris2 survive

hero jatuhke dlm gaung rekahan tanah-->tapi dapat juga panjat balik-->nyaris2 dapat survive

agak2nya kebarangkalian hero untuk hidup sama dengan menang loteri sport toto 8D sebanyak 5 kali berturut-turut... melihat babak camni.. membuat ak rasa mentaliti ak direndahkan ke tahap cipan yang otaknya belum develop lagi...

Dari segi lakonan lak.. boleh dikatakan cukup2 makan r... tapi babak dunia hancur memberi peluang yg sedikit kepada watak2 utk develop dgn lebih mendalam....jadi... resultnya...kita tak rasa rapat sangat dengan karektor2 tersebut... lantak dia la mati jatuh gaung ke... mati tersepit, mati katak ke...

so, konklusinya... kalau korang boleh lupakan realism, buat2 bodo terhadap benda tak logik,suka letupan, benda2 hancur dan minat geologi ala2 hollywood ... movie ni mmg utk korang.. jangan lupa kencing puas2 sebelum ke wayang sebab durasi filem selama 2 jam 45 minit cukup utk buat pundi kencing korang rasa nk meletup.. sekian

Salam .. sorry guyz.. lately i've been trying to save money to go for a trip to Pulau Perhentian... So no posts about new movies.. Only something about i found in my hard drive again....

Main character in movie is Actor Jim Carrey.. i started to know this great actor when i watched The Mask... His attraction is mainly on comedy and weird facial expression... So.. when i saw him made an appearance in Yes Man trailer... i know i had to watch it...

Yes Man is about a person so isolated in his own life because he rejects every great opportunities before him by saying no to it... but his life changed completely when he was forced into a covenant... a covenant that demands him to say yes to anything.. even if its a weird favor .. as in.. yes i will buy that $700 mattress.. yes i will go fight that muscle freak even if it gets me killed... yes i will shoot a cow with a bazooka.. that kind of 'yes'.... and that made the whole story enjoyable to watch because we'd expect the main character get into serious trouble by jumping into it.. but as it turns out.. he ended up getting something out of it.. something good and beneficial..

In this film.. you'll get to see Jim Carrey speaking in foreign language.. that is Korean... i've seen Matt Damon speaks in French and Russian... Jason Statham in Japanese... Edward Norton in Portuguese and Mexican... although not perfected.. but i think they looked cool... but a westerner speaking in Korean?.... now thats something you dont get to see everyday... furthermore.. Jim Carrey's accent made the Korean speaking scene look funnier and awkward....

Another scene that I liked is when Jim Carrey's character tried to calm a jumper and persuade him not to jump off a building.. again... some screen shot so you can see what im talking about..

he quickly grabs the guy.. and pulled him into his room..

Sorry for the lengthy post.. but please bear with me for a little more...
Besided Jim's.. another character i found attractive is the one played by Zoey Deschanel... She looks adorable and pretty in all of the scenes in the film... Perhaps.. its her dress, makeup.. or the funny way she talks.. i'm not sure.. but i'm sure most people find her lovely in this film...

Moving on to next point... the message... i think .. the message was pretty clear.. of course it is not to say yes to everything.. but to know that experiencing something new is not really bad.. maybe.. you'll be at disadvantage at first... but theres definitely something in it that you'll find good and worthful

In conclusion... to me.. this movie was very inspirational and funny at the same time.. thanks to great acting by Jim Carrey and great script writing by the.... scriptwriter.. i suppose...
i give it an 8 out of 10..

Salam.. today's post is not about film in cinema.. just happened to found this in my hard drive and decided to watch it again... although this is some old stuff already.. if im not mistaken this was out a year ago in cinema...i can't help posting my opinion about this film since it's really good stuff and deserve some reviewing here..

The first impression i had on this film was not that good... coz its about a father trying to retrieve her 17 yr old daughter who was forced into slave trade in Paris... This genre is quite old to me and i've watched several movies with same storyline.....but after watching it... it was really something else.. its a true definition of high speed action moive... you see a very angry father who'd stop at nothing to get her daughter back.. even if it means shooting innocent people... even better... this person had served as CIA agent and his fighting skills, the way he get things done is very similar to jason bourne character by matt damon..

.. some ppl i found saying that his action and skills look real.. but not so believable.. coz they thought theres too much coincident and pointed out that agent bryan mills found his daughter out of pure luck... for example.. how he verified the identity of the kidnapper just by matching the kidnappers voice in the recording device with the people he found in the room out of coincident... when the fact is .. it is not coincidental... The empty chit-chat and negotiation was actually intended on matching the kidnappers voice with the one he had on the recording device.. like when he asked a guy the translation for sugar in albanian... and the guy responded with a high pitch.. and he immediately knew it was not him... which left out the real kidnapper sitting on the table..
I can go on for long but i think i've made my point.. liam neeson character knows what he's doing and everything he does has its own objective and goal..

speaking of action... i like it when it he hits the bad guyz's vital part like this...

it ts called The Neckchop... and the bad guy will go like this

and watching it made me go like this

i also like the torture scene using electricity and how he explains that the cia always found trouble to use the electroction torture method in third world country since they dont have stable power supply there.. and the electricity would go off every time they start electrocuting somebody.. then they would have to resort to pulling off fingernails and dropping acid on skin. but in Paris.. the power is much more stable.. hence making the electrocution torture method possible there... anyway.. explaining in words wont do much.. here's some snapshot

Imagine 2 metal rod this big...

and have them pierce through the electrocutee (<-- a word i made up) legs like this..

then Agent Bryan Mills starts the interrogation...

and if the electrocutee refuses to answer any questions and starts spitting on him.. He just have to turn on the switch and the electrocutee will go like this

all day long ............

until I go like this again...

Liam Neeson's character also have the tendency to shoot anyone before they could do something.... you know like in every action movie.. everytime the story reaches its peak and the main character has a gun pointing towards the bad guys.. and we would wait for like 2-3 minutes for him to shoot coz the main character hesitates so much.... and also the bad guy might be begging for his life.. well... with Liam Neeson in Taken.. you wont see any of that... he just shoot any hostile target... without mercy..

In conclusion... this high speed action movie is perfect for Bourne and Die Hard fan...
Since it made my day.. i give it an 8 out of 10

Monsters Vs Aliens

Brought to you by the dreamworks.... This is basically a 3d animated comedy showing what it'd be like if alien invasion is dealt with freaky monsters..

Lately theres a lot of great alien invasion movie like war of the world, the day the earth stood still... and i thought it was brilliant of the dreamwork team to use this chance to introduce a 3d animated movie depicting invasion theme with a touch of humour in it...

.. just like any other invasion movie,elements like government and military intervention must present.. and the animator team uses this element to their advantage and turn the serious vibe that the military forces has into something funny and enjoyable... theres a part where the US president was seen trying to welcome the aliens .. but instead of giving the alien a warm welcoming greetings.. he played a crazy frog tune with a keyboard on a rostrum... lol.. that scene had my stomach hurting from laughing... Also we have the monsters character.. obviously.. i think the idea of turning monsters into friendly, funny looking creature was adapted from Walt Disney's Monster Inc.... So when, i was introduced to the monsters characters in the dreamwork version... it no longer occured to me as something funny and humorous... but each of the monster character has their own appeal... showing a job well done by the dreamwork teams...

ok.. and then.. talking about the animation...i thought the character 3d texture and graphics were quite average.. walt disney's WALL E was way better ...but the animation was something else.. especially.. the part where the alien scout robot started to move... the robot moving mechanism was beautifully animated making the scene almost smiilar to the tripod invasion in War of the world movie...

In conclusion.. the center of attraction of this film is comedy.. just what i expect from 3d animated film from dreamworks.... its good and fun to watch but not as good as i expected...
i give it a 7 out of 10

Terminator Salvation 2009

and hi guyz.. first movie to be reviewed here is Terminator Salvation.. Director should feel lucky i made a first post about this movie.. lol

Directed by Mcd or Joseph McGinty Nichol.. same person who brought you Charlie's Angels...
Faces you'll find familiar would be Christian Bale.. acting as Batman in Batman Begins...

Begins with serious Battle scene... Viewers will be exposed to a new world where nuclear war affected most of earth's landscapes, cities and its population... In the Battle.. Human resistance troops (the good guyz) can be seen fighting the Skynet (the bad guyz) troops with conventional weaponry... such as worn out A-10 jet, chopper, M4 Carbine and M249 machinegun... Making it very similar to movies on modern warfare... the only difference is the good guyz in this movie are fighting the high-tech evil looking robots....

If there is one thing i dislike about this movie, its about the story pace slows down as the movie proceeds.... Fighting scenes are cool.. but emotional and romantic ones looks like crap.. ..because scripts are awfully written ...but actors are not at fault.. in fact all the roles are well casted since actors are very talented.. .. Arnold also make an appearance but his character is CGI-ed and he looks 20-30 years younger in the movie than he is now... Special effect are good... Although they used lots of CGI to animate the robots, and explosion.. but they are put into good use and manage to get the viewers attention...

In conclusion.. i say this movie is good and fun to watch..but T2 is still better... i give it a 7 out of 10...

and hi guyz.. welcome to Huzai goes to cinema ....this is my first time blogging....so pleaze pardon the bad english here.. after all.. improving my english is one of the reason i decided to blog..

This blog is not about my life or anything near it at all....its all about movies, series, or maybe even books .....but mostly, ill write about movies... although i think best review you can find is at www.imdb.com ... my blog tells you how i view the movie from my perspective...i'm not so good in giving review but ill try to write about the movie in terms of the story plot, special effect, acting, soundtracks, bla bla bla.. and other things i think can be included..

Normally, if i am interested to watch certain movies.. i'll check its rating first at www.imdb.com .. if the rating is between 8.0-9.0.. then without hesitating.. ill go watch it before any of my friends could.. but ratings this high is very rare.. chances are 2 movies in a year can get rating this high.. example.. last years iron man and batman the dark knight....but rating between 7.0-9.0 is also good.. but don't let the ratings be the main deciding factor.. if you think the trailer is convincing enough to make you spend a few $$ to go and watch it.. then you should...
